The upcoming romantic series Oh! My Guard has unveiled a new teaser that delves into the peculiar premise of the story starring CNBLUE's Jung Yong Hwa and Hong Seung Hee.
Oh! My Guard tells the story of the unpredictable romance between Uhm Tae Bong (Jung Yong Hwa), a top-tier actor with a fatal flaw, and Oh Hae Ra (Hong Seung Hee), a mysterious woman convinced that she is Cha Hong Doo, the female lead from one of the actor's dramas.
What the new Oh! My Guard teaser shows
The teaser opens before Oh Hae Ra's accident, when the young heiress still remembers who she really is. As a die-hard fan of Uhm Tae Bong, her room is filled with photographs and official merchandise of her favorite actor. While watching one of his dramas, she says in a voiceover: I want to love someone in real life the way they do in dramas.
After being hit by a car, Oh Hae Ra wakes up with no memory of her previous life and is convinced that she is Cha Hong Doo, the combat-expert bodyguard from one of Uhm Tae Bong's dramas. True to that role, Oh Hae Ra sets out to protect the actor, bursting onto the film set to confront anyone who tries to harm him.
Uhm Tae Bong’s reaction to Oh Hae Ra’s confusion
At first, a bewildered Uhm Tae Bong asks Oh Hae Ra who she is, before discovering with horror that she truly believes she is Cha Hong Doo. As the actor tries to adjust to having the young woman following him everywhere, someone warns him that the scariest thing in the world is people who are not quite right in the head.
Later, a voiceover suggests: For now, let's just go along with what that woman wants to believe. Another person responds in disbelief: Is this The Truman Show? Do you want us to film a drama just for her? The teaser closes with snippets of a romance beginning to blossom between Uhm Tae Bong and Oh Hae Ra, as the actor confesses in confusion: I have no idea why I'm acting like this either.
