The upcoming series Oh! My Guard has unveiled the preview for its first episode, offering the first look at the love story starring CNBLUE member Jung Yong Hwa and actress Hong Seung Hee.
Oh! My Guard is a romantic comedy that chronicles the unpredictable bond between Uhm Tae Bong (played by Jung Yong Hwa), a top-tier actor with a fatal flaw, and Oh Hae Ra (played by Hong Seung Hee), a mysterious woman convinced that she is Cha Hong Doo, the female lead from one of Uhm Tae Bong's dramas.
What the first episode preview shows
The new teaser introduces the lives of the two protagonists, who inhabit completely different worlds. Uhm Tae Bong is known as a master of romantic series, but on this occasion, he stops a kiss scene with his co-star Song Na Ri (played by Park You Na) just before their lips touch.
The situation frustrates the director, who asks him why he cannot film a good scene, while his manager watches him with suspicion and questions whether he has truly never kissed anyone.
On the other hand, we are introduced to Oh Hae Ra, a chaebol family heiress who lives alone in a quiet and majestic mansion. Her only comfort is watching the drama Prince's Bodyguard, starring Uhm Tae Bong. Described as a daughter who has distanced herself from the interest of her father, the chairman of the family company, Oh Hae Ra imagines herself as the protagonist of a love story alongside him while watching the screen, wishing for something special to happen to her as well.
The twist that connects the two protagonists
The fate of both characters changes abruptly when news breaks that Uhm Tae Bong has been injured during a shoot. Thinking that if she does not act at that moment she might never see him again, Oh Hae Ra runs out of the mansion and suffers an accident.
After the incident, Oh Hae Ra comes to believe that she is actually Cha Hong Doo, the female lead of her favorite drama, Prince's Bodyguard, and that Uhm Tae Bong is, in real life, the male lead of that story, Han Jung Woo.
