100 Days of Deception: Kim You Jung checks Park Jinyoung's stolen wallet in new teaser

The tvN network has shared a new teaser for the first episode of 100 Days of Deception, the highly anticipated period espionage and romance series set during the Japanese occupation of Korea.

The new footage shows Kim You Jung reunited with her found family as she reviews the loot acquired during the day, including a wallet stolen from Park Jinyoung.

What is 100 Days of Deception about?

Directed by Yoo In Shik, the creative force behind Extraordinary Attorney Woo and the Dr. Romantic series, 100 Days of Deception is a period espionage and romance drama that takes place over 100 days during the Japanese occupation of Korea.

The story follows Lee Ga Kyeong (Kim You Jung), the best pickpocket in Gyeongseong, present-day Seoul, who becomes an undercover spy for the independence movement and infiltrates the Japanese Government-General of Korea. There, she becomes entangled with interpreter Kim Tae Woong (Park Jinyoung, of GOT7), also known as Sato Hideo, the adopted son of the Inspector General of Korea, the second-highest position in the administration.

What the new teaser shows

In the newly released images, corresponding to tonight's premiere, Lee Ga Kyeong is seen with her fellow thief Inoma (Hong Sa Bin) reviewing what they obtained during the day.

After opening a suitcase she previously stole, Lee Ga Kyeong is disappointed to find only clothes, as she was expecting something more valuable. At the bottom of the suitcase, she finds a small bag of white rice, which causes Inoma to exclaim excitedly that he hasn't seen white rice in years. However, she strictly forbids them from eating it, as she plans to sell it.

Next, Lee Ga Kyeong examines the wallet she swiped from Kim Tae Woong, feeling disappointed again to find less cash than expected. When Inoma asks for his usual 10 percent commission, he fails the calculation, leading Lee Ga Kyeong to sigh and wonder what he would do without her.

While continuing to check the wallet, she discovers a student ID card that confirms Kim Tae Woong is a student at the University of Tokyo, which makes her wonder what a student from that institution is doing in Gyeongseong. She also finds a pawn shop receipt, but she crumples it up and discards it without giving it any importance.

Just when she thinks she has finished inspecting her loot for the day, Lee Ga Kyeong notices that the empty suitcase keeps tipping over, suggesting there might be something hidden in its lining.
