Actors Kim Jae Won and Jeon So Young could be joining forces for a new film production. According to a local media report on October 2, both actors have been cast in the lead roles for the upcoming movie Da Capo (literal title, subject to change).
Production company SHOWBOX confirmed the news, though they clarified that the project is still in its early stages. The company stated: It is true that we have offered the roles for the movie Da Capo to actors Kim Jae Won and Jeon So Young, and they are currently in the discussion stage.
What is Da Capo about and who is directing it?
Da Capo is described as a youth romantic drama. The film will be directed by Lee Eon Hee, known for previous titles such as Love in the Big City, Missing, and The Accidental Detective 2: In Action. At the moment, no additional details regarding the plot or the characters that Kim Jae Won and Jeon So Young would play have been revealed, as both are still in talks and the cast has not yet been officially finalized.
Kim Jae Won’s recent career
Kim Jae Won has solidified his career through various television projects, including Our Blues, King the Land, Hierarchy, and The Tale of Lady Ok. The actor is also preparing to make his big-screen debut with the film Final Interview, which would make Da Capo a new opportunity to expand his film work if he ultimately confirms his participation.
Jeon So Young’s professional moment
For her part, Jeon So Young has captured the public's attention this year thanks to the dramas If Wishes Could Kill and The Legend of Kitchen Soldier. The actress also has the release of the film Day and Night (working title) pending, so Da Capo adds to a series of active projects in her career.
What is known and what remains to be confirmed
So far, the only thing officially confirmed by SHOWBOX is that both actors have been offered the lead roles in Da Capo and that negotiations are ongoing. There is no definitive confirmation yet that Kim Jae Won and Jeon So Young have formally accepted the roles, so the final cast could change. No filming dates, release dates, or full plot details have been announced either.
