À Punt has given the green light to Bambalina, a new fiction series with which the Valencian public broadcaster will strengthen its prime time for the 2026/2027 season. The project, presented alongside the rest of the upcoming campaign's new features, will have an investment of 1.25 million euros.
The announcement comes at a key moment for the Valencian regional television station, which is looking to consolidate its commitment to original fiction following the success of previous series and expand its original content offering for the new television year.
What is Bambalina about?
The series is set in a small town in the late 80s and early 90s. The plot follows Isabel, the story's protagonist, who receives an unexpected inheritance and moves to the town with the goal of uncovering the reason behind the legacy.
The first season will consist of 13 episodes of 55 minutes each. Filming will take place in Buñol, where the necessary sets are already being built to bring the period setting to life.
Who is behind the project?
Bambalina will be led by the same production team responsible for L'Alqueria Blanca, one of À Punt's longest-running series, which surpassed 500 episodes during its broadcast.
Cast of the series
The cast combines experienced performers, such as Maria Maroto, Jaime Linares, and Cristina Fernández, with emerging or debut actors, including Paula Valiño, Sergio Martín, and Carla Benavent.
Other new features from À Punt for the new season
In addition to Bambalina, À Punt has presented other premieres for the autumn. Among them is the documentary Jaume I, l'influencer medieval, which will air on October 9th, coinciding with the 750th anniversary of the monarch's death. The piece, produced by the network's news department, offers a contemporary reading of the figure of the conquering king and his story through the Llibre dels Fets.
Comedian and content creator Benja Serra joins the schedule with I tu de qui eres?, a format focused on towns, roots, and the characteristic humor of the Valencian people.
Also arriving is Mira quina casa, hosted by Laura Grande, Josep Lozano, and Yasmina Grigoryan, which will showcase unique homes in the Valencian Community and the stories of the people who inhabit them.
Another addition is Orígens, el valor de les arrels, focused on the rural world, depopulation, and sustainable territorial development projects.
Programs continuing on air
The network is keeping game shows such as A la saca, Atrapa'm si pots, and Cantem! Hits, in addition to strengthening its live slots with Obert pel matí and Està passant Comunitat Valenciana.
Also remaining on the schedule are Valencians al món, which reaches its fifteenth season, as well as Entre els nostres, Historias de la peluquería —the first entertainment co-production between À Punt and Telemadrid—, La cuina de Morera, and Sabors de sempre.
