The law firm Silleras, which specializes in advising the audiovisual industry, has presented easyTime, a new application designed for tracking working hours on film sets. The tool arrives at a particularly sensitive moment for the sector, which is preparing for the entry into force of the Artist Statute, a regulation that will introduce substantial changes to the labor management of productions.
The presentation took place in Madrid before around 70 industry professionals, in an event led by Teresa Silleras, CEO of the firm, along with part of her team. The company thus adds a new tool to its catalog of applications designed specifically for the needs of the audiovisual sector.
An app developed together with production coordinators
easyTime did not emerge in isolation. According to Carlos Esteban, director of operations and innovation at Silleras, the development took place over several years in direct collaboration with production coordinators, who presented the firm with a long list of requirements that ultimately shaped the service's features.
Esteban described the application with three adjectives that sum up its philosophy: simple for the employee, automatic for the coordinator, and configurable for the audiovisual sector. This combination aims to make day-to-day work on film sets easier without losing sight of the flexibility required by productions of very different scales.
Features and pricing
The tool allows working hours to be recorded in great detail, including job category, work locations, breaks and specific schedules. It also focuses on the traceability of all processes, an aspect that, according to Silleras, benefits both production companies and workers themselves.
easyTime is already available on the market at a price of 1.5 euros per month per worker. The firm has emphasized that the service is designed to adapt to both large productions and smaller-scale shoots.
The Artist Statute in the spotlight
During the event, Teresa Silleras took the opportunity to review some of the changes that the Artist Statute will bring. The statute was approved in July and is expected to enter into force on May 25, 2027.
Among the most notable measures is the requirement to include an intimacy coordinator on film sets, a role for which, as the Silleras CEO acknowledged, there is still no formal, regulated training available.
Changes to the hiring of minors
The regulation will also change the conditions for hiring minors under 16 in the sector. Among the changes noted, it will no longer be possible to hire newborns, and it will be mandatory for each minor to have a guardian present during filming.
This responsibility, which until now fell to the production department, will be managed differently going forward, which is expected to add a new cost to be factored into production budgets.
Other labor aspects that are changing
Silleras also reviewed other relevant points of the new regulation, such as whether or not travel time counts as part of the working day, the calculation of targets, and details related to the probationary period in contracts within the sector.
The firm's CEO stressed that the new regulation requires greater thoroughness from both production companies and professionals, giving the employment contract an even more important role, since it must precisely reflect each of these aspects.
A year of expansion for Silleras
