Netflix is moving forward with the development of Nights and Days, its new Polish period series based on the famous novel by Maria Dąbrowska. The production, directed by Kamila Tarabura, is currently in full swing and stars Tomasz Schuchardt, recently seen in The Doll, and Jaśmina Polak.

This is a new adaptation of the monumental four-part family saga written by Maria Dąbrowska, one of the most celebrated works of Polish literature. This version arrives nearly fifty years after the previous film and television adaptations of the 1970s.

Throughout the thirty years the plot covers, the two build a life together in the countryside, although Barbara's longing for lost passion and social status never fully disappears. The series portrays her as a character disappointed with life but, in a sense, also fulfilled by it, becoming a constant challenge both to those around her and to herself.
