Netflix is preparing to significantly expand its Christmas catalog for the 2026 holiday season. According to the platform's New on Netflix bulletin for November 2026, along with other tracked sources, the company will incorporate 26 licensed Christmas titles from other studios in the United States, a figure that exceeds the 23 from last year and the 16 from 2024.
This figure does not include Netflix original productions, which follow a separate schedule and include titles such as Tyler Perry's The Gospel of Christmas, A Dog's Perfect Christmas, the Swedish production The Christmas Switch, and the romance starring Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki, Guarding Stars.
Licensed material, on the other hand, comes from external studios and networks such as Hallmark, Lifetime, Disney, Great American Family, Lionsgate, and the independent distributor Nicely Entertainment, which once again becomes one of the season's largest providers.
Release dates could change as November approaches, and Netflix is expected to update each title's page as they become available.
A Christmas catalog increasingly dependent on third parties
As has been the case for over a decade, Netflix remains unable to secure the major Christmas classics from other studios during this time of year, as their licenses reach their highest value precisely in December. This means that, barring a last-minute surprise, titles such as Home Alone, The Grinch, The Polar Express, or Elf will not be on the platform.
Instead, Netflix turns to a wide range of recent romantic comedies from independent distributors and networks specializing in festive content. Disney is once again providing films from Freeform and ABC for the second consecutive year, Lifetime is contributing four recent premieres, Great American Family is adding several titles, and Nicely Entertainment is becoming the largest individual provider with up to six films.
The big name this year is Hallmark, which is providing the first two seasons of Mistletoe Murders just a few days before the third season premieres on Hallmark Channel. Added to this is the Lionsgate box office hit The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, one of the most prominent titles on the entire calendar.
According to the tracking performed, six of the 27 titles that were available last Christmas are returning this year, while the rest will arrive on Netflix in the United States for the first time.

Which titles will not be available this year
Hallmark Christmas movies released in 2026 will once again be left out of Netflix in the United States. Also leaving the catalog are most of the 2025 Lifetime titles and last year's six-film Reel One package, in addition to the usual A Holiday Engagement, Christmas in the Heartland, and My Dad's Christmas Date.
For December, Netflix has already confirmed original premieres such as In a Holidaze and Gabby's Dollhouse: Makers and Bakers Holiday, although no licensed titles have been announced for that month yet.
