The Spanish audiovisual production company You First Originals has changed its name. From now on, it will be known as Victoria House (by GERSH), a decision that comes after finalizing its integration process into the American agency Gersh this week, coinciding with its expansion into new genres, including fiction.
The announcement was made at MIPCOM Cannes, one of the leading international markets for the buying and selling of television content, where Luis Miguel Calvo and Javier Martínez, heads of the content division, officially presented the company's new identity.
From You First to Gersh: an integration completed
The origin of this change dates back to December 2024, when it was confirmed that Gersh had acquired 100% of You First, an agency specializing in talent representation and brand services in the sports and entertainment sectors. The merger process between both companies concluded this week, and the audiovisual production division took the opportunity to renew its brand.
Thus, after five years of activity and with several projects produced for platforms such as Netflix and Prime Video, You First Originals leaves its original name behind to present itself as Victoria House (by GERSH).
Why the name Victoria House
As Luis Miguel Calvo explained to Audiovisual451, the new name seeks to maintain an independent and differentiated stamp in the market, with editorial autonomy that allows the production company to continue growing based on what has already been achieved.
The head of content details that the choice of the word "Victoria" (Victory) has a double meaning: on one hand, it is a nod to the company's sports origin, and on the other, it represents the value of a job well done. "We feel that production remains quite artisanal and that finishing a production is also a small victory," notes Calvo.
Javier Martínez adds that the name reflects the production company's interest in stories of personal growth. "Everything we have done has had its starting point in sports, but nothing has been about the sport itself; they have been very social stories, with very human messages," he explains.
The House concept, a creative home
The word "House" also has its own justification. For Martínez, it represents the idea of a creative home where work is done from the most intimate level, with passion and artisanal dedication, and which aspires to attract talent capable of creating the best stories.
The projects already signed by Victoria House
Among the productions that support this new stage is the Netflix original documentary #SeAcabó: Diario de las Campeonas, winner of the 2025 International Emmy. Also included are the true crime series 11 Tiros, broadcast on HBO Max, and the three-episode documentary biopic Alexia: Labor Omnia Vincit, produced for Prime Video about footballer Alexia Putellas, which was nominated for an International Emmy.
The leap into fiction with Alexia Putellas
The Catalan footballer is precisely the star of Victoria House (by GERSH)'s first foray into the field of fiction. It is a feature film directed by Lucía Alemany that will narrate the origins and early years of the two-time Ballon d'Or winner and 2023 world champion.
The film is a co-production by Lurico Película Uno AIE, LaZona, LaCima, You First Originals (Gersh), and Odessa Films, with the participation of Movistar Plus and 3Cat, as well as the support of the ICAA, the ICEC, and the IVC.
The cast is led by Madicken Mauri-Sandaker and Emma Masoliver, who play Alexia Putellas at different stages, alongside Roger Casamajor in the role of Jaume and Marina Salas as Eli.
Next steps: Criminopatía and content creators
The company is already working on its next major project, scheduled for 2027: Criminopatía, an ambitious true crime series based on the podcast by Clara Tiscar and produced as a Netflix original. According to its leaders, it is one of the most exciting projects of this new stage.
Calvo and Martínez highlight that, in just five years, the production company has completed six titles, achieved two International Emmy nominations—one of which resulted in a win—and worked with several multinational platforms and brands. In addition, the company has begun to explore collaborations with content creators, as is the case with Clara Tiscar.
Looking to the future, both leaders point out that fiction will become one of the main growth levers for Victoria House (by GERSH), along with YouTube as a distribution window, a space in which the production company also feels comfortable.
