The agency MODHAUS has issued an official statement to address accusations circulating online against Lee YoonSung, one of the nine candidates competing for a spot in idntt, the company's new project.
On October 18, MODHAUS officially introduced the nine candidates for find id, the process through which the four final members of idntt will be selected, along with the corresponding voting schedule. Among the names revealed was Lee YoonSung, who previously participated in the survival shows PROJECT 7 and B:MY BOYZ.
Shortly after the announcement, allegations against Lee YoonSung began to circulate on social media, including an old post accusing him of asking fans for gifts and subsequently blocking them.
What MODHAUS said about the accusations
Hours after the rumors spread, MODHAUS published a statement in English detailing the results of their own fact-checking. The agency explained that because the support and votes of find id fans deserve to be protected, they acted immediately to clarify the situation.
First, MODHAUS stated that Lee YoonSung never held private meetings with any fan and that, during his time as a trainee, he never requested gifts or financial support.
Regarding the origin of the gift mentioned in the rumors, the agency explained that Lee YoonSung rejected all gifts offered to him. However, on one occasion, he received a bracelet valued at less than 10,000 South Korean won via a KakaoTalk gift code, and while attempting to decline it, he made a mistake in handling the exchange, resulting in the item being accepted. According to the statement, the trainee himself regrets not having been more careful when responding to his followers.
Regarding the blocking of the account mentioned in the accusations, MODHAUS indicated that Lee YoonSung treated that person solely as a fan, without any other type of relationship. The agency asserted that the individual's behavior escalated into sustained intrusion into the trainee's private life, accompanied by obsessive conduct directed toward him, which led him to stop responding on social media and eventually block the account.
MODHAUS confirms an ongoing criminal complaint
The statement also revealed that a criminal complaint has been filed in relation to this case. According to MODHAUS, the police decided not to refer the case to the prosecution, and the agency is currently appealing that decision.
MODHAUS requested an end to the spread of false accusations and malicious posts on social media, noting that unfounded rumors not only damage a trainee's reputation but also harm other participants competing fairly and devalue the votes cast in good faith by fans.
The agency reiterated its commitment to ensuring a level playing field for all find id trainees and assured that it will protect them from baseless rumors, safeguarding the impartiality of the process until the end. MODHAUS closed its message by again asking that people refrain from sharing unverified claims.
