CINEMA Lab Córdoba opens its fourth call for Andalusian audiovisual projects

The RECORD association, which brings together film and audiovisual professionals in Córdoba, has launched the call for the fourth edition of CINEMA Lab, a project development laboratory designed to boost Andalusian audiovisual talent. The initiative is particularly relevant at a time when development labs have become a key pathway for screenwriters, directors, and production companies to access funding and professional contacts before starting production.

A laboratory for projects in development

CINEMA Lab is aimed at fiction and documentary feature films that are in various stages of development. The program's objective is twofold: on one hand, to strengthen the creative dimension of the proposals; on the other, to improve their viability and facilitate access to funding opportunities and collaboration with other professionals in the sector.

The laboratory is supported by the Municipal Institute for Economic Development and Employment of Córdoba (IMDEEC) and the collaboration of three benchmark entities in the Andalusian audiovisual landscape: ANCINE (Andalusian Association of Fiction, Documentary, Animation, and Series Film Producers), AAMMA (Andalusian Association of Women in the Audiovisual Media), and CINA (Association of Filmmakers of Andalusia).

In previous editions, the program has featured participation from representatives of organizations such as the ICAA, Canal Sur, RTVE, and the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions (AAIICC), which reports to the Regional Government of Andalusia, giving an idea of the types of stakeholders that selected projects can access.

Requirements and operation

To participate, projects must include a screenwriter or a director from Andalusia on their team. The evaluation of the received proposals will be carried out by Nazaret García Crespo, the laboratory's coordinator.

The training activities will take place at the Hotel Hesperia Córdoba, located at Avenida Fray Albino, 1. The laboratory will be held within the framework of CINEMA26, the fifth edition of the Córdoba Film Week, which will allow participants to attend screenings and other festival activities, provided they are compatible with the laboratory's own schedule.

Conditions for participants

The organization will cover two nights of accommodation for selected individuals who do not reside in the province of Córdoba. Additionally, breakfast and lunch will be provided to all participants during the three days of the laboratory.

The deadline to submit projects for this fourth edition of CINEMA Lab ends on October 30 at 11:59 PM. The full terms and conditions of the call are available on the RECORD website. For additional questions, interested parties can write to the email address lab@reccord.es.
