The tvN network has released new motion posters for its upcoming drama 100 Days of Deception, introducing the five main characters of the story, all of whom are hiding their true identities behind a lie.
The series is directed by Yoo In Shik, known for his work on Extraordinary Attorney Woo and the Dr. Romantic series. It is a period drama that combines espionage and romance, set during a 100-day period during the Japanese occupation of Korea.
What is 100 Days of Deception about?
The plot follows Lee Ga Kyeong (played by Kim You Jung), the best pickpocket in Gyeongseong, present-day Seoul, who becomes an undercover spy for the independence movement and infiltrates the Japanese Government-General of Korea. There, her fate crosses with that of interpreter Kim Tae Woong, also known as Sato Hideo (played by Park Jinyoung of GOT7), the adopted son of the Inspector General of Korea, the second-highest position in the colonial administration.
The characters behind the lies in the new posters
Lee Ga Kyeong, the spy under a false identity
The first poster features Lee Ga Kyeong, who has infiltrated the Japanese Government-General under the false identity of Geum Seo Hee. In the image, her cheerful smile transforms into an expression of nervousness as her mask slips. The text accompanying the poster reads: It was a 100-day lie. Until it became the truth.
Sato Hideo, the interpreter with a double life
The second poster corresponds to Sato Hideo, who had perfectly played the role of Sato Shinichi's (Jin Sun Kyu) adopted son until he met Lee Ga Kyeong and his life was shaken. The text on his poster hints at the complex relationship that will develop between them: Although I knew it was a lie, I still wanted to believe it.
Yoo So Ran and her dangerous proposal
Kim Hyun Joo plays Yoo So Ran, a woman who approaches Lee Ga Kyeong with a risky proposal. In her poster, she goes from resting a hand on her stomach to staring directly at the camera with an expression that mixes pain and rage. The text suggests how she drags Lee Ga Kyeong into her revenge plan: Become our spy. I am proposing a deal.
Yoo Philip, the journalist fighting with his pen
Lee Moo Saeng plays the journalist Yoo Philip, a man who fights not with a weapon, but with his pen. The text on his poster is intriguing: If you keep hesitating, I will have no choice but to write an article about what happened today.
Sato Shinichi, the Inspector General of Korea
Finally, Jin Sun Kyu plays Sato Shinichi, the Inspector General of Korea and adoptive father of Sato Hideo. In his poster, he wears a cynical expression as he defiantly asks: Do you think killing me will be enough for Korea to achieve independence?
