The South Korean platform Wavve has unveiled a new poster and teaser for its upcoming BL drama, The Sound of Sugar Cubes, which arrives on the platform on October 23.
The series is based on the popular BL web novel of the same name and follows Han Yul, a young man who has lived in hiding after giving up singing due to a trauma from his past. His life changes completely when he meets the composer Lee Won and returns to making music.
The Sound of Sugar Cubes Cast
Cho Chan Hyun plays Lee Won, a composer who exudes a dangerous air and is difficult to read. After suggesting that Han Yul return to singing, Lee Won becomes increasingly involved in his life.
For his part, Yoo Dohyun, a former member of the boy group MIRAE, plays Han Yul. Known for his solid vocal skills, Yoo Dohyun makes his acting debut with this project. His character is a man who stopped singing and went into hiding after a painful episode in his past; upon meeting Lee Won, he returns to music and begins to face what he had avoided for so long.

The teaser, meanwhile, reveals a mysterious connection between the two protagonists that dates back several years. In the scene, Han Yul introduces himself as Lee Soo Yeon, to which Lee Won responds: “So that's why I couldn't find you. I've been looking for you for a long time”.
Lee Won then asks Han Yul to audition for a singing contest, with a line loaded with meaning: “It's the only chance to help your friend get his song back. Are you going to run away again without doing anything this time?”.
The scene then cuts to a flashback in which Han Yul is seen in a school uniform, hiding anxiously behind a door while watching another student being beaten until he collapses. The teaser leaves open the question of what exactly happened in Han Yul's past and why it led him to give up singing.
