The second season of Off Campus has just cleared one of its most important hurdles before arriving on Prime Video: filming has officially wrapped. The news is significant as it allows us to start estimating a release date for one of the platform's most successful romantic series.
The confirmation came after MTV UK announced the end of production on social media, a fact backed by Mika Abdalla, one of the stars of the new episodes, during a promotional collaboration between Google and Vogue.
Off Campus finishes filming its second season
Recording for the new episodes began in Vancouver in early June 2026, just a few weeks after the premiere of the first season. The production plan aimed to finish work by mid-September, and the latest reports indicate that the team has met that schedule.
This is great news for fans of the adaptation of Elle Kennedy's romance novels, especially following the notable success of the first installment.
Off Campus drew 36 million viewers worldwide during its first 12 days of release, making it the third-best first-season premiere in Prime Video history, trailing only The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Fallout.
These figures explain why Amazon decided to renew the series on February 12, 2026, just three months after its arrival on the catalog on May 13 of that same year.
When will Off Campus season 2 be released?
Prime Video has not yet announced an official date, but May 2027 is shaping up to be the most likely window for the series' return.
The first season was filmed between June and October 2025 and arrived on the platform about seven months after filming concluded.
With the second season's filming wrapped in September 2026, Amazon has a similar, if not slightly larger, margin of time to complete post-production before the launch.
Another factor working in favor of a tight schedule is that Off Campus does not require the same level of visual effects or action sequences as other Prime Video productions, such as Reacher. Its main appeal lies in the relationships between the characters and the chemistry between the leads, which usually translates into shorter post-production processes.
It remains to be seen whether Amazon will repeat the formula of releasing all episodes at once or if it will opt for a weekly release to extend the conversation around the series.
Season 2 will feature new leads
One of the most striking aspects of this new phase is the change in the lead couple. The second season will no longer place Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham at the center of the plot, although both characters will remain present in the series.
Instead, Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes will take on the lead roles, adapting the events of The Score, one of Elle Kennedy's most popular novels.
This change follows the original structure of the books, in which each installment focuses on the relationship of a different couple while the previous protagonists move to the background as supporting characters.
Dean and Allie, a new love story
The relationship between Dean and Allie promises to bring a different dynamic than the one seen between Hannah and Garrett. Their personalities and the circumstances that bring them together offer enough material for a season marked by romantic tension.
This change also serves as a test for the series: to see if its success depends on the group of characters and the university atmosphere surrounding the story, rather than solely on the original couple.
Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli, who play Hannah and Garrett, will remain linked to the show, albeit in supporting roles this time.
Prime Video may already be preparing a third season
Another notable addition is India Fowler, who will play Grace Ivers, a character from The Mistake, another novel in Elle Kennedy's saga.
Her arrival has fueled speculation about a possible third season centered on the events of that book, although Amazon has not officially confirmed anything in this regard.
Introducing Grace in advance would allow the audience to become familiar with a character who could gain much more weight in the future of the franchise.
Given the viewership data from the first season, it would not be surprising if Prime Video commits to keeping this story alive for several more years.
For now, Off Campus season 2 has finished filming and is pointing toward May 2027 as a release date, pending official confirmation from Amazon. The big question will be whether Dean and Allie can repeat the phenomenon that Hannah and Garrett starred in.
