Netflix continues trimming its licensed series catalog throughout September 2026. Following the recent departure of all seasons of Orphan Black and The CW's superhero series Black Lightning, the platform is now saying goodbye to seven other major titles whose distribution deals come to an end this month.
Among the most notable departures are the eight complete seasons of the classic comedy Girlfriends and the four seasons of the hit historical series Spartacus. Also leaving are Nashville, Heels, Castle and Castle, Lopez vs. Lopez, Penelope and, internationally, The Good Place.

Spartacus Leaves Netflix After a One-Year Deal
All four seasons of Spartacus also leave Netflix on September 15, as part of the same one-year deal that brought back Nashville. Unlike Nashville, Spartacus had already been available on Netflix in earlier stints since 2015. The return proved strategic, coinciding with the December 2025 premiere of the alternate-history sequel House of Ashur.
The deal made Netflix the primary home for the entire Spartacus universe, including Blood and Sand, the prequel miniseries Gods of the Arena, and the seasons Vengeance and War of the Damned. Since its return, the franchise accumulated 259.4 million hours of viewing.
Castle and Castle and Lopez vs. Lopez Leave Mid-Month
The Nigerian series Castle and Castle leaves Netflix on September 17.
