Horror season is already underway on Netflix. The platform has begun revealing its traditional Halloween catalog, internally known as Netflix and Chills, featuring a combination of original series, licensed movies and premieres arriving both globally and specifically to the US catalog.
This first preview covers the titles confirmed so far for October 2026, although Netflix usually expands this list in the coming weeks as the date approaches.
Original Netflix releases already available
Before looking ahead to what's coming, Netflix has already added several titles to whet appetites. In the movie category, the platform premiered the new original productions The Last House and The Whisper Man.
On the series front, the psychological thriller Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is already available, along with the British production Unchosen and, to the delight of Hawkins fans, two full seasons of the Stranger Things spin-off titled Tales from '85.

In film, The Boy in the Iron Box stands out, produced by Guillermo del Toro and based on his Audible series about a group of mercenaries who crash on a snowy summit. The movie, directed by David Prior, has already finished filming and is expected to premiere in 2027.
Chris Pine, meanwhile, is set to star in a new horror movie titled Yeti, also expected in 2027. There has also been talk of a possible adaptation of Stephen King's novel Cujo, though it's not confirmed whether it will ultimately move forward. The Bioshock adaptation, another long-awaited project, remains in development.
On the series side, Netflix is preparing a Scooby-Doo adaptation expected in 2027, which content chief Bela Bajaria recently described as excellent. Also in the pipeline are the animated series Ghostbusters: Night Shift and Motel Transylvania, both also expected in 2027.
Additionally, Midnight Sun, the highly anticipated animated series based on Twilight, is in production. Meanwhile, Ryan Murphy's The Watcher is preparing its return after several years of waiting.
