The romantic film The Table: Day and Night has revealed new images of its characters, played by Kim Min Ha and Joo Jong Hyuk, ahead of its highly anticipated release in November.
Set during the transition from summer to autumn, the film portrays the subtle, witty, and charming conversations between four pairs of men and women who cross paths at the same café. Among them is the chance encounter between Yoo Jin, played by Kim Min Ha, and Hyeon Oh, played by Joo Jong Hyuk, who visit the café at different times of the day.
Four stories that converge in the same café
In addition to the couple played by Kim Min Ha and Joo Jong Hyuk, The Table: Day and Night follows three other stories that intertwine in the same space. One of these is the unexpected reunion between Sang Mi, played by Han Sun Hwa, and Young Min, played by Chang Ryul, who attended private tutoring classes together in middle school.
Another plot presents the fiery first meeting between Hye Jin, a web novel writer played by Shim Eun Kyung, and Dong Nam, an independent filmmaker played by Lee Hee Jun. The fourth story shows the bittersweet moments shared by Na Kyeong, an aspiring idol played by Jeon So Young, and her boyfriend Jong Su, played by Kim Dong Hwi.
Who are Yoo Jin and Hyeon Oh
In the film, Kim Min Ha brings to life Yoo Jin, a woman who has a strange dream one night, while Joo Jong Hyuk plays Hyeon Oh, a man who dreams of becoming a master watchmaker.
The newly released images show both characters in the same space, but wrapped in completely different atmospheres. Yoo Jin appears quietly enjoying a beer at night with a subtle smile, while Hyeon Oh is seen sitting in the café during the day, listening intently to the ticking of a clock.
The promotional material poses the question of how the paths of both characters will eventually cross beyond the boundaries that separate day and night.
