The Galician production company CTV has launched a comprehensive renovation of its facilities, including new sound, lighting, image, and production technologies. The company, with over forty years of activity in the audiovisual sector, seeks to provide its studios with a more efficient and flexible infrastructure for its upcoming productions.
The update comes at a time when CTV is strengthening its position as one of the leading production companies in Galicia, having driven formats such as O sabor das Margaridas, the first original series in Galician distributed by Netflix in over 190 countries. The company also continues to broadcast productions such as Luar and Land Rober Máis Show, which are already benefiting from some of the new equipment.
A pioneering sound infrastructure in Galicia
One of the most significant changes in the renovation is the incorporation of Sennheiser Spectera, a next-generation digital system for audio management in audiovisual productions.
According to Magnetrón, Sennheiser's distributor in Spain, CTV has become the first permanent installation with this technology in Galicia and the largest in the Spanish television sector. The infrastructure includes 25 bidirectional bodypacks and 15 handheld microphones, connected via a Dante network and 10 Gbps fiber optics.
The system also features eight antennas that allow the service to be distributed across the production company's different studios. The ring configuration provides redundancy, which reinforces the security and stability of the signals during recordings.
LED lighting for greater energy efficiency
The renovation also affects studio lighting, with a firm commitment to LED technology. CTV has incorporated Claypaky solutions that consume approximately 550 W, compared to the 1,200 W of the equipment they replace.
This reduction in consumption has a direct effect on heat generation within the studios, which in turn reduces air conditioning requirements. In addition, the new systems incorporate optics and additional effects that expand creative possibilities for production teams.
New image tools and space improvements
The renovation plan is completed with the incorporation of new image and production tools, including improved optics, new capture resources, and greater possibilities for camera movement. New features include new studio dollies and programmed movement systems.
In parallel, CTV has carried out improvements to its production spaces, with work on the studios, the main entrance, and the exterior areas of its facilities. The production company has 15,000 square meters spread across five studios of different sizes.
The goal: efficiency and talent retention
Ghaleb Jaber Martínez, CEO of CTV, explained that the renovation goes beyond the simple incorporation of equipment. In his words, the company seeks to improve its way of working, gain efficiency, and offer more possibilities to professionals to continue producing quality television.
The executive also pointed out that one of the purposes of this update is for CTV to consolidate itself as a place where audiovisual talent can develop and carry out their projects from Galicia, without the need to move to other territories.
Productions already using the new technology
The new infrastructure is not a future project, but is already operating in several of the company's active productions. The program Land Rober Máis Show, broadcast on TVG, is already using some of the new lighting and sound systems installed in the studios.
Likewise, the renovated facilities host the new season of Luar, one of the longest-running programs on Galician television, in addition to other projects that the production company currently has in the development phase.
