South Korean network ENA has shared a new teaser for the first episode of Between Steps, the upcoming romantic drama starring Kim So Hyun and Choo Young Woo. In the scene, Choo Young Woo's character approaches a complete stranger played by Kim So Hyun after she suffers a fall.
Between Steps is directed by the late director Ahn Pan Seok, responsible for hit dramas such as Something in the Rain, One Spring Night, and The Midnight Romance in Hagwon. The series tells the love story between Park Min Jae (Choo Young Woo), a former swimmer who lost his right leg due to an illness, and Im Yoo Jin (Kim So Hyun), a graduate student looking for a new direction after losing her own.
What the new Between Steps teaser shows
In the newly released preview, which corresponds to the premiere episode, Im Yoo Jin scrapes her knee after falling while running to catch a bus. Park Min Jae, whom she has never seen before, approaches to help her.
The character played by Choo Young Woo hands a bottle of water to the flustered Im Yoo Jin and tells her to clean her wound with his handkerchief. When she replies, "That's not necessary," he insists that she at least remove the dirt and sand, warning her that the wound could easily get infected if she doesn't clean it immediately.
Next, Park Min Jae asks Im Yoo Jin to hand him her broken shoe and surprises her by ripping the heel off both shoes. Faced with her surprise at him destroying a "perfectly good shoe," he calmly explains that her legs need to be the same length to be able to walk properly on both feet. He then asks her to try on the shoes and walk in them.
After she stands up, the kind stranger tells her: "Another bus will come if you wait, so don't run like that. You could fall."
